WISE (Women in Science & Engineering) uOttawa is the branch of WISE Ottawa that caters to students and faculty members in sciences and engineering at the University of Ottawa. Along with it’s sister organization Wise-CU, WISE uOttawa aims to provide a forum for women in science and engineering, connecting students and professionals across various sectors and carrying out valuable outreach programs to encourage the pursuit of science and engineering amongst girls of all ages.
Why
University life can be rather stressful and challenging, and in certain programs women are in the minority. The odds of connecting with other intelligent, driven women in one’s program of study can therefore be difficult. Through WISE uOttawa, women in all disciplines of science and engineering will be able to connect on a social and educational level to provide support, encouragement and guidance to one another as well as partake in entertaining and educational activities.
